Last year I did a Diwali sweetmeat series, taking the classics and re-inventing them into showstopping creations.

This year, I have created a delicious Diwali biscuit series which celebrates some truly iconic creations. I have also included family favourites that my mum, sister and aunt make regularly for us, to celebrate them and the richness they have brought to Diwali over the years.

Naan Kathai

These biscuits are iconic in many Indian households – it is all about the signature crack and the balance of spices, which make them incredibly moreish.

Pecan Nut Biscuits

One of my sister's most popular biscuits, from when she baked to pay for extra tuition. The toasted pecans in the dough add warmth and toastiness.

Custard Biscuits

My aunt's speciality: homely, rustic and incredibly moreish, these are a melting moment type biscuit, but with a delicious custard flavour.
